In August, John and Henry were pleased to see that a planning application had been submitted by the Council to dismantle the timber structure of the historic fountain and replace/repair the rotten timbers.
John and Henry are delighted to say that listed building consent for the restoration works has now been granted and in record time. John comments: ' I am very grateful to everyone, who submitted their comments of support. This has helped to speed up the planning application.'
Henry adds ‘The support from the local community shows what we can do when we all work together. This is a very positive step forward to ensure this historic fountain survives for years to come.'
The next stage is for the Council to put the works out to tender.
