About Henry Michallat

Henry Michallat is a Bristol City Councillor for Stoke Bishop ward representing the communities of Sneyd Park (including The Downs), Stoke Bishop, and Sea Mills (south of Sylvan Way).

Since being elected in May 2021, Henry has achieved many things for Stoke Bishop ward, along with his colleague Councillor John Goulandris. Some of these include:

  • Stopped the 5G mast being erected in Sea Mills Square: Henry and John worked with the local community to stop the 5G mono pole being erected in Sea Mills Square, which is part of the Sea Mills Conservation Area.

  • Referendum to Scrap the role of Mayor of Bristol: Henry and John campaigned cross-party to scrap the role of Mayor. The campaign was a success and now Bristol City Council has reverted to the more democratic Committee System.

  • Protecting our facilities: After years of lobbying the Mayor and Bristol City Council, the Dingle Close Tennis Courts have finally been restored and are now open to the public after 15 years of neglect. Henry and John have also supported the work of We Love Stoke Lodge in their aims to designate Stoke Lodge a Village Green, as well as being strong voices for the protection of our parks and green spaces.

Professionally Henry has worked as an antiques auctioneer and valuer in Bristol and North Somerset for a number of years.

Outside of politics, he likes spending time with his family, exploring different parts of the UK, and searching for bargains at car boots and in charity shops.
