Councillors Henry Michallat and John Goulandris are concerned to see that the recently restored Dingle Close Tennis Courts are still closed.
The court works were completed and handed over to Bristol City Council earlier this year, but unfortunately within a week started to show signs of damage from bindweed growing through the tarmac surface.
Treatment of the weeds was carried out, but wasn’t successful.
Council officers are urgently trying to find an effective solution to address this issue so as to ensure the weeds don’t grow back.
Henry comments ‘It is a great shame that the courts still remain closed after nearly 20 years of neglect. I hope the Council works quickly to solve the current issues to ensure the courts are finally open to public.'
John and Henry will continue to liaise with Council officers to ensure works are completed soon.
