Since being elected in 2021, Henry and John have lobbied the Mayor to take action to improve the Dingle Close tennis courts. The courts have been left in a sorry state for over 15 years and have become a hub for anti-social behaviour. John and Henry are delighted to report that a public consultation for a ‘pay-to-play’ scheme finally went live, resulting in many local residents having their say.
Henry comments “This is a huge step forward to see the courts restored to their former glory. The proposed scheme will ensure that the site is fit for purpose for years to come, which benefits the whole community and it is great to see engagement from the local community.”
John adds “For far too long these courts have been allowed to deteriorate. Although this scheme incorporates a small fee to play, through monies generated this will help with general site maintenance, which will ensure the courts don’t end up in the same sorry state again.”
The public consultation has now closed. John and Henry will keep residents updated.
